SUSTAINABILITY
For more than a century, UZIN has combined innovation with a long-term commitment to sustainability. We believe high-performance flooring systems should not only deliver exceptional results but also contribute to healthier indoor environments and responsible construction practices. Through low-emission technologies, durable product design and continuous innovation, we help architects, specifiers and contractors achieve sustainable building outcomes without compromising performance.
Coast Youth Family Trust (CYC)
For more than eight years, UZIN UTZ South Pacific has proudly partnered with Coast Youth Community Trust (CYC) to support young people. CYC supports young people facing barriers to education by connecting them with vocational training, apprenticeships and pathways into meaningful employment. Through in-kind product donations and ongoing support, we have contributed to programmes that help create lasting opportunities for young people and their families.
"We are hugely grateful for the support we have received from Walter and the team at UZIN UTZ South Pacific Ltd, which has enabled young people to gain vocational education, training, and employment, which they otherwise would have not been able to do"
~Josh Sandford, Director of Coast Youth Family Trust~
We are also proud supporters of Variety – the Children’s Charity, helping provide essential resources and educational opportunities for children facing financial hardship. Here is a recent quote from one of the parents of the children.
"I'd like to say the biggest of thanks to you and your company for being so; generous, kind for sponsoring my [child]. It has truly been the most amazing & blessed feeling ever & for that I thank you again.
I truly appreciate everything you have helped with, like new lunch box, new warm clothes & socks & shoes. Plus my [child starting] his 2019 school days off right with all his stationery & not having to miss out or stop a bill to afford it was a huge relief."

Supporting organizations that strengthen communities reflects our belief that long-term success is built not only on quality products, but also on creating positive social outcomes where we live and work. Especially as New Zealand has the largest opportunity in the OECD to invest in learning and development for youth and young professionals to increase the work effectiveness and preparing them for the future of work.
Environmental product declaration EPD
Many UZIN products support sustainable building initiatives, including Green Star, LEED and BREEAM projects. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are available for a wide range of products, helping architects and specifiers make informed decisions and meet project sustainability objectives.
Our team provides technical guidance on selecting products that align with environmental certification schemes and project-specific requirements. Across the UZIN Group, we adopt a lifecycle approach to product development, considering the impacts of raw material sourcing, manufacturing, installation, service life and end-of-life management to support more sustainable construction outcomes.
The new generation of the UZIN ECOLINE
With "Blue Angel" and EMICODE EC 1 PLUS
Since the 1990s, the UZIN ECOLINE range has been recognised for delivering low-emission flooring systems that support healthier indoor environments. Today, many products achieve EMICODE EC 1 PLUS certification and carry the prestigious Blue Angel environmental label, reflecting UZIN’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and indoor air quality.
These internationally recognised certifications provide architects, specifiers and contractors with confidence when selecting products for projects where environmental performance and occupant wellbeing are priorities. By combining low emissions with proven installation performance, UZIN ECOLINE helps deliver sustainable building outcomes without compromising quality or reliability.
Life Cycle Assessment
LCA – Life Cycle Assessment
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a recognised methodology used to evaluate the environmental impacts of a product throughout its entire lifecycle – from raw material extraction and manufacturing to transportation, installation, use and end-of-life disposal.
By assessing material use, energy consumption, emissions and waste generation at each stage, LCA provides valuable insights into a product’s overall environmental footprint. Metrics such as Global Warming Potential (GWP) help architects, specifiers and project teams make informed decisions when selecting products that support sustainable building outcomes.
